Plate Glass universities in the UK were established under the proposals made by the Robbins Report on Higher Education between 1963 and 1992. These institutions were formed to increase the number of universities.
Plate Glass universities are accredited to introduce an innovative approach towards teaching, syllabus, examination, discipline and administration. Besides, they are known for their architectural style and are located on green-field sites.

Russell Group Universities:
