Peralta Community College District is the community college in northern Alameda County, California. From 1968 to 1988, non-contiguous Plumas County was part of the district, and Feather River College was operated by the district. Peralta is affiliated with the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. The College first was accredited in 1973. Individual College of Alameda occupational programs are certified by the American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Dental Education for Dental Assistants, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
