Diablo Valley College is one of three publicly supported two-year community colleges and it was opened in 1949. Diablo Valley College is affiliated by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Western Association of Schools and Colleges (contact information below), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. DVC serves approximately 22,000 students each semester for different program options.
DVC’s faculty is committed to meet the educational needs of the students, in consideration with the purposes and regulations that appear in the Education Code of California. The college is intensely devoted to student by educating through the intellectual, scientific, artistic, psychological, and ethical development of its diverse student body. College prepares students for transfer to four-year universities, offers career and technical education, supports the economic development of the region, offers pre-collegiate programs and promotes personal growth and lifelong learning.
