Established in 1965, Algoma University is an undergraduate-only university based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, a scenic city at the heart of the Great Lakes, along the Canada-U.S.A. border

Tuition Fees
All international students and their dependents must enrol in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP), or a similar approved plan, for health coverage. The premium cost for a single student is $624 for the period from September 1 to August 31. This fee is subject to change upon evaluation of the program. International students will not be permitted to register until and unless they have enrolled in UHIP or provided documented proof of membership in another similar plan.

Language Requirement: Proof of English Language Proficiency
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Proof of English language proficiency is required to attend Algoma U. One of the following minimal requirements must be met in order to be eligible for undergraduate admission:
- TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) (213 computer based) (79-80 Internet-based)
- IELTS 6.0 (including 6.0 in each band of reading, writing, listening and speaking)
- MELAB 90 per cent
- CanTEST 4.50
- CAEL 60
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) 63 OR Successful completion of Algoma University’s ESL Program with a 80 per cent or higher
